About Little Picassos

Quality Art Education for Children in Adelaide

Little Picassos is a leading children’s art school in Adelaide, providing high‑quality, professionally planned art experiences for children aged 2.5–16 years. Since opening our first classes in 2005, we have grown to welcome hundreds of young artists each week into our purpose‑built studios in Glenelg, Hyde Park, Magill and Woodcroft. We believe every child is creative. At Little Picassos, our role is to nurture that creativity by offering a safe, inspiring and supportive environment where children feel confident to explore ideas, take risks and express themselves through art.

Our Philosophy

At Little Picassos, we celebrate the individual artist in every child. Our programs are carefully designed to balance creative freedom with strong visual art foundations, helping children to develop both skills and self‑belief. Through art, children learn to:
  • Think creatively and independently
  • Develop confidence and resilience
  • Explore emotions and ideas in a positive way
  • Learn to observe, reflect and problem‑solve
There is no “right” or “wrong” in our studios — only differences, discoveries and growth.

Founded by an Experienced Art Educator

Little Picassos was founded by Janine Boyd, an artist and highly experienced visual art educator with a background in early childhood, primary and secondary art education. Janine established Little Picassos after recognising a gap in Adelaide for specialist art programs for children, particularly in the early years. Her vision was to create a space where children could learn to truly see like artists — developing an understanding of line, shape, colour and form — while also enjoying the freedom and joy of making art. That vision continues to guide everything we do today.

Professional Teachers, Purpose‑Built Studios

All Little Picassos classes are taught by qualified visual arts and early childhood specialists who are carefully selected for their passion, expertise and ability to connect with children. Our teachers are not only skilled artists, but enthusiastic mentors who understand how children learn at different developmental stages. Our bright, welcoming studios are designed specifically for children, offering:
  • Quality art materials and tools
  • Small class sizes
  • Age‑appropriate instruction
  • A calm, encouraging learning environment
